Join MCPS and PRS as a publisher


PRS Criteria You must have contracts covering at least fifteen pieces of music in your catalogue. Evidence must be provided to support this. You will be required to provide copies of your publishing or sub-publishing agreements in respect of fifteen pieces of music.

MCPS Criteria

Your catalogue must consist of at least one piece of music that has been:

You only need to meet one of the above criteria and evidence must be provided to support this. The type of evidence could be:

a commercial release

a photocopy of the sleeve/artwork for the recording clearly indicating that you have a publisher credit
a letter from the record company (on their headed paper) confirming that they have released a recording featuring your music

recorded into a radio, TV, audio-visual or multimedia production or used online

a music cue sheet for the production clearly detailing inclusion of your music
a letter from the production company (on their headed paper) confirming inclusion of your music in the production
the web address and any other supporting information regarding the download of your music

Documentation confirming your catalogue comprises of at least 15 pieces of music
Documentation confirming the mechanical usage of one of your pieces of music
A photocopy of relevant documentation confirming your identity

Sole traders should provide a photocopy of their birth certificate or passport
Companies which trade as a partnership should provide a photocopy of each partner’s birth certificate or passport as well as any partnership agreement.
Limited companies are required to provide a photocopy of their Certificate of Incorporation as well as a copy of the company’s Memorandum & Articles of Association.
